Nineoaks has 3 Coarse lakes, one of about 1 acre called Main lake, a 1/2 acre House pool and a small Novices pool. Whilst we have Carp into the mid-20's we don't claim to be a "big fish" water. What we have is excellent Carp fishing with the average Carp being about 5-6lb. We have all varieties of Carp - Fully scaled Mirrors, Mirrors, Commons, Koi, Koi hybrids, Mirror & Common Ghosties plus Grass Carp. Some excellent Roach and as several angler put it "Roach fishing to die for". Plenty of 1/2lb+, many 1lb+ with several 15" or more in size.

We have spent the past 12 months twice weekly fishing out the small Roach out of all pools and this has dramatically increased the average size of Roach being caught, with 1/2lb’ers and above being caught fairly regularly. Small Brown Trout are again in all the Trout Pools and we continue to slowly increase the amount of margin plants around all edges of each lake. In the next week or two the Yellow Flag Iris should begin to bloom and the place should look stunning once again.

Our lakes:-

Main has an average depth of 4-5ft. There are plenty of trees, bushes and bays all around the lake that provide lots of features to fish in to and under. A good variety of Carp of all sizes with the biggest going into the mid-20's. Main also has some excellent Roach fishing, skimmers, Tench and Grass carp up to 14lb. We also have some excellent Roach fishing with Roach up to 1 1/2lb with plenty around the 3/4lb mark. Tench go up to 3lb.

House is about 10ft deep in the middle with the margins being about 4ft deep. Plenty of features and trees/bushes on 3 sides and a large lilly bed. House. like Main, has a good head of Carp plus Bream, excellent Roach, Tench and a couple of Grass Carp up to 10lb. Carp here go up to 18lb with an average of about 4lb. Some awesome Roach fishing with a large shoal congregating towards the centre in summer months and about 1-2ft down. Roach go over 2lb. Tench up to 5lb.

Novices is between 6 and 8ft deep in the middle. Some tree cover and deep margins. Carp up to 4lb with plenty of 1/2lb'ers and plenty of good Roach to keep the novice, beginner or expert angler busy all day. To one side of the Lake there is a thick hedge providing plent of cover when it's windy. Novice has no Tench worth of note.

If you would like to learn how to Coarse fish, we provide Fishing lessons Click here to find more about the Fishing and Coaching school to know more? Gift vouchers are also available that can be used for lessons, tackle and equipment, Birthdays or Christmas for redemption at the Fishery only.

During the summer months the Roach on feeding nearly all day. Good baits are Sweetcorn, luncheon meat, Bread (including floating bread) and Maggots will generally provide the Roach and non-carp species all day long. Method mixes and vitalin with 2 or 3 sweetcorn can provide continuous sport all year. Dog food and Cat food regularly produce some super fishing. However, we do discourage the use of boilies and lots of groundbait going in.
