Some details of the Trout Fishing and Trout Fishing holidays at Nineoaks Angling Centre. Nineoaks is open all year from sunrise to sunset. It is not a big complex, just a good one. It is one of the prettiest fisheries and also a first class Angling center and an Angler's Mail Top 100 Fishery. It has 2 Coarse Lakes, a small Novices Pool, and 3 Trout Lakes plus some top class Holiday Accommodation in Holiday Cottages and superb Static Caravans.

Nineoaks is a Disabled Friendly site and open all year. It is one of the naturally prettiest fisheries as well as a first class Angling Center. With 3 Trout Lakes and 3 Coarse Lakes Set around the top class accommodation. There are a large variety of clean, hard fighting "Bars of Silver" Rainbow Trout, hard fighting Blue Trout and small Brown Trout in each of the 3 Trout Lakes! You will be surprised just how hard our fish fight! They regularly run 2/3rd,s down a lake before they can be turned.

The Trout stocking policy is a minimum size of 2lb, an average of 2.25lb Trout are stocked with plenty 3's and 4's and a small number of 5lb-6lb fish and over.

There are 3 lakes of about 1/2-3/4 acre in size. They are called, Derwen, Weir and Pallen. Derwen is about 13ft deep, Weir is 8ft+ deep and Pallen about 6ft. Derwen and Weir are roughly round and Pallen is an elongated triangle. Derwen is 10 yards from the Car Park and Weir and Pallen each about 40 yards of the Car Park.

The lakes are not "holes in the Ground" but have bushes and trees around them in a very natural setting. Casting is easy in places and more difficult or challenging in others. Side casting along the overhangs or "pinging" under them often produces the fish, as they know where to go where you can't find them and where casting is difficult!

Fishing is generally with wet flies, and dry flies during the summer evenings, close against the reed beds. Montanas, Diawl Bachs, Damsels and Nymphs and Gold Heads in small sizes out produce large flies. Summer months when the sun is high and cloudless, blue skies are frequent, during these times fishing will be hard. Fish deep, or under the bushes with a dead slow, almost stationery, retrieve.

On the accommodation side, we take some beating and you will have to go a long way to find better, cleaner, fresher smelling holiday accommodation than those provided here. We have a couple of Static Caravans, overlooking the lakes, a semi-detached bungalow and a cottage annexe, both graded by the Tourist Board at 4star standard; Both are more than suitable for an angler, their partner or a their family to have a luxury holiday. They have central heating, fully equipped kitchens, leather couches, power showers - the lot. The only thing we don't have is a "hot Tub"!

Getting around the lakes is easy with grassy ramps for the non-ambulant and good sized concrete platforms aplenty. Almost any small fly will catch. Each Trout lake as a number of large Lilly beds and plenty of reeds and bushes etc around them. Each lake also has a few simple wooden bench seats, just perfect for a short break or a place to leave your gear by.

Overall a place definitely worth a visit and an excellent place to stay whether for a fishing holiday or a family holiday.

The center is located about 2 miles inland from some of the best sandy beaches and beautiful coast line in Wales. There are plenty of things to do and see just a short drive away. Many fisheries are usually isolated and once on-site you have a long travel to find other things to do. Here, you can fish in the morning, take the wife out during the day and return for some spectacular afternoon and evening fishing. What more do you want - a fantastic holiday, superb accommodation and awesome fishing, and no "black marks"?
